Diagnostics on Demand 2.0 – our innovative diagnostic solution

28. Jul 2024 | Technology + Products

The increasing proportion of electronics in vehicles is becoming an increasing challenge for many workshops. More and more components are connected to the control unit. To ensure that the parts work correctly, they must be enabled or coupled with the vehicle. More and more of these processes can only be processed via manufacturer portals. For workshops that repair many different vehicle brands in particular, purchasing OE diagnostic devices and the training of employees in the various manufacturer ranges takes a great deal of time and money. Furthermore, multi-brand devices often reach their limits and the workshops are forced to hand over the vehicle to the respective manufacturer. With our DoD 2.0, we offer an efficient and time-saving alternative.

The advantages of Diagnostics on Demand

Our DoD is an innovative diagnostic solution to support independent workshops. For the first time, we offer them access to functions that were previously only be reserved for OE testers. This saves the workshop a trip to the contracted workshop in the event of a complex fault. With DoD, independent workshops can do all work independently, thus saving time and money. Diagnostics on Demand is also an individual solution. Because our customers only pay for the service they have actually used. There is no need to purchase expensive hardware and there are no additional fixed costs such as update costs or hardware licences.

A note on handling the VCI diagnostic device

It is very easy to use. First the OBD cable is connected to the vehicle. Then we connect the VCI directly to the Internet via Wifi or LAN and the DoD page in the Web browser is called up. The customer can now select the vehicle model and the desired service here. Direct contact with our service technicians is also possible via a ticket system. The Web browser can be used to establish an online connection between the vehicle in the workshop and our diagnostic team. This means that the vehicle no longer has to leave the workshop. All you need is a stable Internet connection via Wifi, LAN or LTE and Diagnostics on Demand VCI.

Application example:

Our Diagnostics on Demand can be used in a variety of ways and offers tailored solutions. For example, vehicle control units can be programmed or coded after a replacement, for example. It can also be used for retrofitting, such as a trailer coupling or for complex electronic faults. A concrete example: If the front radar is damaged, it must be replaced and re-taught. This is a safety-relevant component. The control unit must be coded and released during installation. Here's how it works: First of all, the vehicle is selected either manually or via the VIN identification. Then select the desired service in the app. The costs are displayed directly. You can also communicate with one of our employees from the diagnostic team via live chat during the diagnosis process. You will be informed when the diagnosis is complete.

Which matching accessories do we offer?

We also offer the right accessories for your diagnostic work. As diagnostic work can use a lot of electricity while also discharging intact and fully charged batteries in a short time, we recommend using our Flash CS120 battery charger, which is suitable for all battery types. For a stable Internet connection, we also offer a 10 metre long LAN cable. This is a halogen-free patch cable with cables made of full copper. We also offer a 1 metre long OBD extension cable for greater flexibility when connecting the OBD socket and diagnostic device.
